Tokuro KATO Tokuro searched for the roots of Seto and tried to re-create Oribe, Ki-Seto (yellow Seto), and Shino wares in Momoyama era's style. He pursued "something new" all his lifetime. He was a chief director of the Japan Ceramic Society and Japanese Traditional Art Crafts. He was nominated as a Living National Treasure for his Ki-Seto work, but he didn't accept it. |
